  • Ground pork150 g
  • Dried shrimp20 g

  1. Soak glutinous rice for 2 hours, drain, and cook in a rice cooker with 0.7 cups water.

    Don't overcook the rice — keep the grains distinct.

  2. Slice and fry shallots until crispy. Soak dried shrimp, then drain.

  3. Sauté shallots and dried shrimp in hot oil. Add ground pork and break apart.

  4. Add soy sauce, rice wine, rock sugar, five-spice, and half a bowl of water. Simmer into a braising sauce.

  5. Take a glass or cup, layer some braised meat at the bottom, fill with glutinous rice, and press firmly.

  6. Invert onto a plate, pour over remaining sauce, and top with fish floss and pickled cucumber.

    Mix everything together when eating so every bite gets the sauce.
